Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
This describes what Consense (“we,” “us”) collects when you use the web app or mobile app, why, and who it's shared with. It's written to describe exactly what the product does — no boilerplate about data we don't actually collect.
What we collect
- Account info — if you sign in, your email address, via our authentication provider (Clerk). If you don't sign in, we assign an anonymous session identifier instead; no email or identity is attached to it.
- Your questions and the resulting answers — what you ask, which mode and models you used, and the verdict generated, so your history and shared links work.
- Outcome feedback — if you tell us how a decision turned out (“worked out / mixed / didn't”), we store that against the run. This is optional and only used to improve confidence calibration.
- Basic usage events — things like when a session starts, which mode gets used, or whether a verdict was shared. Tied to your account or anonymous session id, used only to understand product usage — never sold, never shared with advertisers.
- Subscription status — which tier you're on and whether it's active. We do not receive or store your card number or payment details — those go directly to Stripe, or to Apple/Google via RevenueCat on mobile.
Who your data is shared with, and why
Consense's entire product is built on sending your question to multiple AI models and synthesizing their answers — that necessarily means your question text is sent to whichever providers are on the panel for that request:
- OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and/or DeepSeek — to generate each model's answer.
- Clerk — authentication, if you sign in.
- Stripe — payment processing for web subscriptions.
- RevenueCat, Apple, and Google — payment processing for mobile subscriptions.
- Neon — our database host, where the data described above is stored.
- Vercel — hosts the application itself.
None of these providers receive more than what they need to do their specific job. Model providers see your question text, not your email or account identity. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not share it with advertisers.
Cookies
We use one strictly-necessary session cookie — either your anonymous session id or Clerk's own sign-in session cookie. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it, and deleting your data
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account (from the app, or by contacting us) removes your data from our database. If you never signed in, clearing your cookies ends that anonymous session — nothing further to delete, since nothing was tied to an identity.
Children
Consense isn't intended for, and shouldn't be used by, anyone under 13.
